Local Dentist Donates Proceeds
from “2006 Smiles for Life” Campaign
Holiday smiles are much
brighter for Ocean of Love families this season. Dr. Ron Rotem, a Toms
River dentist and member of the national Crown Council, set aside 100
percent of his fees for teeth whitening during the 2006 Smiles for
Life Campaign and presented a check for $1400.00 to Linda Gillick,
executive director of Ocean of Love. Ocean of Love is a nonprofit
organization that helps families whose children have cancer by helping
them with non medical expenses, such as mortgages, utilities, food,
transportation and even babysitting.
Gillick, who accepted
the check on behalf of Ocean of Love, says, “You can’t help but smile
knowing that Dr. Rotem has donated his fees for whitening teeth to
Ocean of Love. We are very grateful for the fund raising he does on
behalf of our families.”
Dr. Rotem says, “The
people who had their teeth whitened during this year’s campaign were
happy not only to do something for themselves, but also to donate to a
charity.”
Since 1998, The Smiles
for Life Foundation, the charitable arm of the Crown Council, has
contributed more than $15 million to children’s charities because
members of Crown Council dental practices, like Dr. Rotem, donate the
entire cost of professional tooth whitening during the campaign.
